Escape the Fate. They buried me in 2008. With hate. Snakes. They only made one mistake..... They forgot to check my pulse. Under Vegas lights with a borrowed mic. Screaming "Guillotine" on those E.T.F. nights. I put their name up on the wall. I fell from fame and they watched me crawl. They said, You're done and locked the door. Told the world, Ronnie... No more. I wrote a hundred songs in my 6 by 8 cage. As those clowns sabotaged my stage. But a cage can't hold a monster. Bars can't stop a verse. I went in as a problem and came out as your curse. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha..... You got the legacy. I got the numbers. I Zombified the charts while you still wonder. You play it safe. I break the mold. You can keep the past because I own the gold. You called me the villain but now it's my turn. I'm the Phoenix in Black. Watch the world burn. Two years. Four walls. Writing songs behind locked doors. No band. No friends. But I still had my war. Released in 2010 with nothing but a fire. Built my own circus that's rising higher and higher. The Drug In Me Is You. Popular Monster on the charts. While they're still playing 2006 in small town bars. I came out with a hunger. I built my own flame. Now, I'm headlining and you're playing the same game. 'Cause a cage can't hold a monster. Bars can't stop a verse. I went in as a problem and came out as your curse. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha..... You kept the name. I kept the pain. Now, who's selling out arenas? Say my name again. You got the nostalgia. I got the charts. You can keep the drama. I'll keep my scars. You stole my fame but I'm holding the torch. You laughed at my name. Now, I'm Falling In Reverse. You can call it revenge. You can call it a comeback. I call it proof that you can't kill a Phoenix in Black.
