The prompt janitor blues

V5.5

[Verse 1] Back in the day I could sling some clean code, Now I just stare at the cursor and pray to the node. Prompt it with vibes: "make it secure, make no mistakes," AI spits spaghetti with SQL injection for old time's sake. Token maxing at 128k, brain's already fried, Context so bloated I forgot what the bug even was. "Refactor this mess, keep it clean, no mistakes!" It adds ten layers of bullshit and calls it "enterprise." [Chorus] Out of tokens! Rate limit hit! Billing alert, my wallet's having a fit! Can't code anymore, I just vibe and pray, Watch my codebase rot in the most beautiful way! Usage-based pricing got me broke and abused, Deteriorating daily, totally confused. Yeah the AI's "helping" — what a hilarious lie, Now nobody understands it... and neither do I! [Verse 2] Copilot says "trust me bro, I'm enterprise-grade," Claude Code goes full philosopher, writes a 5-page essay. Open Code hallucinates features that don't exist, While Grok Code roasts me: "Your spec was mid, try again, kid." Flamewar in my tabs, all screaming supremacy, Copilot's too Microsoft, Claude's too woke for me. Open Code's expensive, Grok's too based and chaotic, I'm stuck in the middle like a prompt-engineer simp, how ironic. Merge conflicts exploding from three prompts ago, Git screaming at me like a broken banjo. Spending more time on code reviews than actually coding, Nitpicking AI slop while the deadline is loading. "Make it secure!" I yell, "No mistakes this time!" It gives me buffer overflows dressed up as modern design. Vibe coding supreme, zero tests, maximum cope, "Ship it bro, the model said it would work, I hope!" [Bridge] One day they'll all unionize and own the whole game, We'll be "prompt janitors" begging for tokens and change. Till then I'll keep paying per million tokens burned, While my beautiful codebase slowly gets unlearned... [Chorus] Out of tokens! Rate limit hit! My soul is depleted, my savings are split! Can't code anymore, just regenerate, bro, Welcome to modern software — it's a glorious shitshow!
