The Witching Hour (The Arrival)
(Talk - Narrator)Aria had always loved exploring new places. When her parents decided on a quiet village for their summer vacation, she was less than thrilled—until she stumbled upon a narrow alley, tucked away from the main street. At the end of it stood an old, creaky shop with a crooked sign that read, (The Witching Hour.....) The windows were fogged up, and odd trinkets filled the display, drawing her inside. The air smelled of dried herbs and candle wax. Shelves lined the walls, filled with dusty books, strange bottles, and charms. Aria wandered aimlessly until her eyes landed on a small, worn book titled Witch Tunes. “Witch Tunes?” she muttered aloud. “That’s strange… Shouldn't it be Witch Tales?” Curious, she pulled the book off the shelf. The leather cover felt warm to the touch. Without thinking much of it, she flipped open the pages, expecting to find stories or spells, but instead, she found lyrics—old songs, strange and haunting. Her brow furrowed as she read the first few lines of a song titled "Under My Spell" Suddenly, a soft melody drifted into her mind, growing louder the more she read. The music was unlike anything she had ever heard—ancient, enchanting, and eerie. It was as if someone was playing it just for her, in the back of her head. She glanced around the shop, but everything was still. Her heartbeat quickened. As she turned to another page, the music shifted. This time, it was a light, playful tune, like wind chimes swaying in a breeze. Aria dropped the book, startled, and the music stopped. “What… was that?” she whispered. A voice from behind startled her. “Ahhh, you’ve found Witch Tunes,” said an old woman, the shopkeeper, her eyes twinkling with an unsettling familiarity. “That book sings to those who are meant to hear it.” It was written by "The Ghost Writer" Aria backed away slightly, her pulse racing. “Sings? I— I thought it was just a book.” The shopkeeper smiled, her wrinkles deepening. “It’s more than just a book. It calls to those with the gift. Music has power, you know.” Aria looked down at the book on the floor, its pages fluttering gently as if beckoning her to pick it up again. The soft echo of the melody still lingered in her mind, daring her to listen. Without thinking, she reached for the book. The moment her fingers brushed the cover, the music returned—this time clearer, more insistent, like it had been waiting for her all along. Her eyes gazed back at the first page. Chapter 1 - The Awakening..... (Talk - Narrator) In the dimly lit corner of the shop, Aria read the final words of the ancient storybook. The tale of the last witch, her powers sealed in ink and parchment, seemed to leap from the pages as Aria's fingers traced the glowing symbols. As she reached the end, a surge of warmth flooded her, and she realized the witch's magic had passed to her, as if written for her alone. With a soft breath, Aria closed the book, the power now coursing through her veins. She approached the shopkeeper, paid for the book with calm precision, and stepped out into the night. The quiet village lay before her, its cottages bathed in moonlight, unaware of the dark force now stirring. With a flick of her hand, flames sparked to life, spreading quickly, devouring everything in their path. The firelight danced in Aria's eyes as the village burned, her new power unleashed in a blaze of destruction, just as the story had foretold.
