[Verse] The God of our fathers raised Him up so high Though hands of men had left Him to die Hanged upon a tree in cold disgrace But love triumphed in that holy place [Chorus] Oh the risen King He's alive today Through the darkest night He lights the way His mercy shines It will never fade Oh the risen King Forever He reigns [Verse 2] From the shadows deep He came alive With power and peace no foe can contrive Though betrayed by hands filled with sin His boundless grace brings life within [Bridge] Hanging by nails with the world in His sight A gift of redemption The purest light No hatred could conquer No tomb could obscure The love of the One who makes us pure [Chorus] Oh the risen King He's alive today Through the darkest night He lights the way His mercy shines It will never fade Oh the risen King Forever He reigns [Verse 3] Lift your eyes to the tree where His love bled The chains of sorrow gone and death is dead In His wounds a story carved so deep A saving grace A promise we'll keep
