Faster than you

A chase song running from scary zombies as friends fall, Male voice growing increasingly frightened, alt-rock with pulsing bass walk and guitar lead, second steel guitar providing layered harmonies, Slow rises and beat drops just before each chorus provide emphasis, especially in choruses and bridge, Abrupt stops at end of each chorus, Climactic and abrupt ending, Backup singers join to sing first line of each chorus

[Verse]
They got Doctor Gallagher first
He got clipped by the sliding door
And in that moment I think he knew
What the zombies would do
They were on him before he could stumble to the floor

[prechorus]
Something about their brain disease
Made these zombies quick as can be

[Chorus]
Run as fast as you can
Dont you dare trip
They’re right behind us
and getting closer still
— I don’t want my brains to get chewed —
I don’t have to be the fastest
Just have to be faster than you

[Verse 3]
As the security guard was overtaken
he turned with pistol drawn
Shot three zombies in the eye
Before he was tackled from the side
And he never got back up once he went down

[Verse 4]
Nurse Julie was right behind me
as we headed for the city square
Halfway across the bridge
A zombie caught her wrist
The dead were coming from everywhere

[prechorus]
A dead-end alley seems to seal our fate
Our only way out is up the fire escapes

[Chorus]
Climb as fast as you can
Dont you dare slip
They’re right below us
and getting closer still
— don’t want to feel their hands grab my shoe —
I might not be the fastest
But I’m faster than you

[Verse 4]
The ambulance driver was caught
Somewhere between the fourth and fifth floor
A crusty zombie grabbed his heel
Let out a bone-chilling squeal
Then pulled him to the crowd massing below

[bridge]
As we reach higher ground
I see the crowd has thinned out
I look around and it’s just what I dread:
Only zombies behind me
and all the living ahead

[Chorus]
Run as fast as you can
Leap from roof to roof
They’re right behind us
and getting closer still
— I can smell their rotten breath and know the truth —
I don’t think I am the fastest
And my time may be through
