[Verse 1] They called me a son of the thunder. They weren’t wrong. I reached for the highest seat before I understood the lowest place. I asked for fire when a village turned Him away. I wanted a crown before I knew the shape of a cross. They called me a son of the thunder. Yet I walked with the Son of God. ⸻ [Chorus] Watching strength wrapped in gentleness. Power covered in mercy. Day by day, my heart was drawn to Him, until the thunder gave way to love. ⸻ [Verse 2] They called me a son of the thunder. They weren’t wrong. I watched Him wash even the feet of Judas. He chose mercy over pride. Mercy proved stronger than all the thunder inside me. They called me a son of the thunder. Yet I walked with the Son of God. ⸻ [Chorus] Watching strength wrapped in gentleness. Power covered in mercy. Day by day, my heart was drawn to Him, until the thunder gave way to love. ⸻ [Verse 3] They called me a son of the thunder. Until His love was seen in me. I stood beneath His rugged cross, and stayed. I ran to His empty tomb. I lost myself in love for my Master. I once was a son of the thunder. Until I walked with the Son of God. ⸻ [Final Chorus] Watching strength wrapped in gentleness. Power covered in mercy. Day by day, my heart was drawn to Him, until the thunder gave way to love. Until they knew me as the disciple whom Jesus loved.
