Rewrite me, baby

After hearing a tribute by @philippedufour01 to Jim Morrison, I had the idea of trying to create a The Doors style psychedelic rock track. I'm trying to learn song writing, so wrote the lyrics completely from scratch to try and make something Jim Morrison-esque. I'm interested in how you folks think this turned out. Enjoy friends! ----------------------- [Intro] [Carnival Organ Riff] [Verse 1] She's a black stain spreading on the page Choked back breath of turpentine She blots out words held against my name Swimming any vein she finds [Chorus] Rewrite me, baby Spill your cold black across our script Rewrite me, baby Rewrite me, baby Till I'm just a fiction on your lips Rewrite me, baby Rewrite me [Verse 2] My shoes blend into the shag carpet I can't remember my own face The mirror is a distant relative I'm just a typo on her page [Chorus] Rewrite me, baby Spill your cold black across our script Rewrite me, baby Rewrite me, baby Till I'm just a fiction on your lips Baby Rewrite me [Bridge] [Spoken Word building to Shout] [Drums heavy on toms, Organ drone] You can fill the room like parchment You can write all over the ceiling You can erase the floor beneath us You can blacken the windows and the doors You can grieve the story you left us You can twist the knife until it's right You can settle for three dollars fifty in change But my existence is simply your lines! [Outro] [Vocals disjointed, Heavy Echo] Rewrite me, baby Rewrite me Baby... Rewrite me Rewrite Rewrite... Baby... Baby... [Silence]
