"I stole everything I ever heard, but mostly I stole from the horns." - Ella Fitzgerald 🎶 I chose this quote because it speaks directly to the vocal jazz/scat tradition, where the singer imitates the lines and phrasing of instrumentalists like trumpeters and saxophonists. It is also a statement on the state of AI song generation learning. We all learned from someone and on some level used it in our own way. It is no different now or in the future. "I think the music situation today has reached the point where it isn't necessary for categories. I think what people hear in music is either agreeable to the ear or not. And if this is so, if music is agreeable to my ear, why does it have to have a category? It either sounds good or it doesn't." - Duke Ellington 🎶 I chose this quote because it best describes my approach to music and why I have such a wide variety in my releases. Oh, and he is a massive influence on me and someone I look up to for musical inspiration. This is a type of scat and vocal jazz.
