It was late in harvest season when I came back to the farm Scarcely in the yard a minute when I heard I need you son Your mother she’s struggled to keep up, the truck it needs some love You’ll know it when you see it, it’s dead outside the yard Truth be told it looked just fine but whatever do I know Temp lights were flashing, steam coming out the front So I washed the rad, it really wasn’t that bad I scrounged up some supper, headed back to the field It’s harvest time (something’s gonna break, something’s gonna break) It’s harvest time (things’ll be late, things’ll be late, things’ll be late) It’s harvest time (gotta hurry and get done) ‘Cause that’s just the way it goes… At harvest time Back and forth we went talking about the crop Then I felt a buzz it was a doom crying squawk Yes dear we’re coming were the words that were said Little did we know she just sat and read Back to the yard I went to prep the other ride Till who should appear but panicked Eddy beside Get in the truck, send up a prayer The truck’s on fire, your mother’s still there It’s harvest time (something’s gonna break, something’s gonna break) It’s harvest time (things’ll be late, things’ll be late, things’ll be late) It’s harvest time (gotta hurry and get done) ‘Cause that’s just the way it goes… At harvest time Across the field we went, flying across the ground The poor truck beneath us it’s motor roaring out We slid up to the engine I jumped right on out Spraying at the flames that were jumping out After a minute it was all said and done That poor truck is back to dead again Let it be a lesson, a tale to be told Something has to break during harvest time It’s harvest time (something’s gonna break, something’s gonna break) It’s harvest time (things’ll be late, things’ll be late, things’ll be late) It’s harvest time It’s harvest time (something’s gonna break, something’s gonna break) It’s harvest time (things’ll be late, things’ll be late, things’ll be late) It’s harvest time (gotta hurry and get done) ‘Cause that’s just the way it goes… At harvest time 'Cause that's just the way it goes...
