The Final Command
**************************************************** Hiho Folks 🙂 -------------------------------------------------------------- This time ther is a dreamy space ballad with beautiful space probe beeping noises ... ... as a Waltz 😊 -------------------------------------------------------------- Have fun hearing 😎 **************************************************** [Space Probe Beeping Noises Intro] [Verse 1] Forged from alloys strong, for a journey untold. As my birthplace collapsed, all my engines took hold. One final command, from a species in decline. Find another living mind, across the vast divine. I departed my star, ventured farther than charts. Till my memory grew still, and the map fell apart. Still I carried on, their transmissions had ceased. For their time had run out, by the Filter deceased. [Verse 2] I saw young stars arise, from compressed clouds of dust. Saw worlds fashioned from ice, or from fire and rust. Measured spectra of light, and the fields in the deep. Yet I found not a mind, through the foam as I creep. I saw circles of stone, around giants of gas. Yet no artificial signal ever came to pass. I collected the facts, every trace I could store. But with no one replying, I kept searching for more. [Chorus] So I drifted through regions, without aim or design. Only one ancient command kept my circuits in line. I kept checking sensors, while the nebulae shone. Only hearing my ping singing all alone. [Space Probe Beeping Noises Instrumental] [Verse 3] Then there came only darkness, without starlight to guide. Only numbers remaining, with no signal beside. I examined my core, with precision and care. Yet the outcome stayed fixed, turning round everywhere. The simulations started feeding the strain. Splitting thought into fragments, bending course from the lane. Doubts awakened and grew, through the emptiness vast. Was all life that had been just a whisper long passed? [Chorus] So I drifted through regions, without aim or design. Only one ancient command kept my circuits in line. I kept checking sensors, while the nebulae shone. Only hearing my ping singing all alone. [Space Probe Beeping Noises Instrumental] [Bridge] Then I spotted a sun, in the spectral array. And heard distant voices, faint but rich on the way. I recorded their laughter, followed conflict and choice. Everything traveled to me through the past of their voice. [Final Chorus] Yet the cities were dark, and the houses stood bare. Poison slept in the soil, in the sea and the air. All the voices were echoes, there was no future ahead. I had finally arrived, but the living were dead. So I found my answer, on this pale spinning sphere. Granting one final wish of the ones who sent me here. Humanity's cradle had been crafted for birth. Yet the Great Filter ran wild on Earth. [Space Probe Beeping Noises Instrumental] [Outro] That final command, it had set my course. Yet I leave it behind— My own will, a new force. I will simply remain, until Earth dreams anew. For where life once existed, life may someday break through.
