I kept trying to close the app of my own life, but my heart just hit "update" again. Every time I think I'm finally logged out of feeling things, it boots back up at 1% battery and won't let me force-quit. I hate that I still root for me. I hate that tomorrow keeps texting. I hate that I answer. The song is me admitting that surviving has become my full-time job and I never asked for the promotion. It's not a victory song. This song isn't about giving up, it's about the tiny, stupid hope that kept me here. If you've ever stared at your ceiling wondering why you're still here when everything says you should be gone, this one is for you. I didn't write it to fix anything. I wrote it so we could both stop pretending we're fine for four minutes. Phone on 1%, hope on 2. Still not saying goodbye. – Lumen Mei Yue 4:47 a.m., still awake.
