[Verse 1] I woke up tired of the race Boots by the door, sun on my face Bills on the table, dust on the rail Same old wind through the screen door veil I got a heart that wants to sleep But the world keeps knocking at my feet So I shake off the weight, let it roll One more mile on a bent-up road [Pre-Chorus] I could lay low I could disappear But the minutes won't wait And the sky is here [Chorus] I would really like to take it easy Take it easy, take it easy But for right now I'll take it as it comes I'll take it as it comes (As it comes) [Verse 2] Coffee gone cold on the porch step Dog at my heel, no plan yet Radio hums through a cracked screen door Same three chords, I need a little more Not chasing gold, not chasing clouds Just trying to stand in the middle now If the storm shows up, I'll let it sing Got a steady hand and a stubborn thing [Pre-Chorus] I could lay low I could disappear But the road keeps calling And the day stays near [Chorus] I would really like to take it easy Take it easy, take it easy But for right now I'll take it as it comes I'll take it as it comes (As it comes) [Bridge] So pass that tune around Let the floorboards shake We can laugh at the load We can give and take No need to solve it all No need to run Just keep my boots on ground Till the hard part's done [Final Chorus] I would really like to take it easy Take it easy, take it easy But for right now I'll take it as it comes I'll take it as it comes (As it comes) I would really like to take it easy Take it easy, take it easy But for right now I'll take it as it comes I'll take it as it comes (As it comes)
