[Intro] Yeah Uh Baby in the kitchen like a chemist (yeah) Hold up [Verse 1] Long day, keys on the counter Smell hit the door, that’s power Steam in the air like a shower You been in here slow-cookin’ hours Got that pan on a low flame Little seasoning I can’t name Girl, I swear that it’s your love Every grain, every bite, that’s us [Chorus] Make me a plate, girl, don’t be late You know I’m prayin’ over chicken and the rice you make I don’t need a chef, I don’t need a steak All I really want is chicken and the rice you make Baby, make me a plate, make me a plate I’m addicted to that chicken and the rice you make If I had to choose, every single day I’d still pick your chicken and the rice you make (yeah) [Verse 2] Got my fork doin’ side quests Every corner of the plate, that’s blessed Little sauce drippin’ down, that’s a mess But I lick it off, I confess Brown skin glow in the stove light You ask, “You want more?” Like that’s old, right? Girl, I’d put a ring on it twice For another round of chicken with the rice [Chorus] Make me a plate, girl, don’t be late You know I’m prayin’ over chicken and the rice you make I don’t need a chef, I don’t need a steak All I really want is chicken and the rice you make Baby, make me a plate, make me a plate I’m addicted to that chicken and the rice you make If I had to choose, every single day I’d still pick your chicken and the rice you make (oh yeah) [Bridge] You put love in the pot, I can taste that Every little grain, every playback Leftovers in the fridge, I’ll chase that Midnight trip in my socks, where the plate at? You the only one got me this way Got me dreamin’ ‘bout dinner all day From the first little bite, I knew If the food hit like this, then the heart do too [Chorus] Make me a plate, girl, don’t be late You know I’m prayin’ over chicken and the rice you make I don’t need a chef, I don’t need a steak All I really want is chicken and the rice you make Baby, make me a plate, make me a plate I’m addicted to that chicken and the rice you make If I had to choose, every single day I’d still pick your chicken and the rice you make (make me a plate)
