[Verse] A dragon white on crimson field The king who’d never bow or yield In chains he stood with steadfast heart Refused to let his faith depart [Verse 2] The Viking horde Their gods they pressed But Edmund bore his holy crest He faced their wrath with steady gaze His faith alight his heart ablaze [Chorus] Oh Saint Edmund Banner high White dragon soars in scarlet sky Through trials fierce Through darkest night Your courage burns A guiding light [Verse 3] The arrows flew The spears they fell Yet heaven’s grace his story tells A martyr crowned His name remains A beacon through our stormy rains [Bridge] Oh England’s king Your spirit stays In hearts of those who walk your ways A dragon white A fearless flame We sing forever of your name [Chorus] Oh Saint Edmund Banner high White dragon soars in scarlet sky Through trials fierce Through darkest night Your courage burns A guiding light
