The Little Pirate - 4 - The famous ghost pirate
I thought we were just kids playing games in the sand But your shadow flickered strange when you waved your hand You told me tales of ships and storms And gold that glowed so bright But I never guessed you’d vanish with the moonlight A cursed navy sails the seas Chains clink like the tide And you My friend You’ve been running Running Nowhere to hide So what do I do What do I say When my best friend’s a ghost in the pirate bay Do I help you fight Do I run away Or will we both haunt the night someday Your laughter’s like a cannon Your smile’s made of mist Your coat smells like salt Your boots creak and twist You showed me the stars from a crow’s nest view But I didn’t know I’d be choosing sides with you The captain’s curse is a shadow Creeping near your shore And I hear his boots His cold laugh Tapping at my door So what do I do What do I say When my best friend’s a ghost in the pirate bay Do I help you fight Do I run away Or will we both haunt the night someday
