They say, “What doesn’t break you makes you stronger.” But years have passed - I might be chipped - or fractured - broken a few times by bigotry or envy, by judgment, by scrutiny, by words that cut me deep. So I froze my senses, numbed the aches, restrained myself not to feel so much. Now I am like frozen metal - solid, unyielding, unbent and strong. But strike this frozen steel - it will not bend, it will not break. It will shatter into shards that will plunge into the eyes that stood in my way.
