Mini-Event STORYTELLERZ 2046 Role-playing event with lots of features: https://tinyurl.com/y6ruv3ax Event-Playlist: https://tinyurl.com/ejfbm8bj ******************************************************************************************** Ray Booker, a funeral director in Queens, is decommissioning what appears to be an ordinary synthetic body when he discovers a rare V-9 interface core. He remembers seeing the same model six years earlier and checks his handwritten records. The serial number is the same. According to Ray’s old ledger, he properly returned the core to the licensor in 2040. According to the current digital file, however, it has always belonged to the body now lying on his workbench. For the first time, Ray cannot dismiss an inconsistency as an isolated error. What matters most is not what he finds, but what he decides to do with it. ******************************************************************************************** [Intro] New day. Same work. Clean file. Clean release. Expensive frame. Barely worn. High quality parts throughout. [Verse 1] Control plate at the back. Neck lines clean. Connections clean. Nothing out of place. Then the core. V-nine. Haven’t seen one since forty. [Hook 1] Check the screen. Check the book. Same number. Different history. [Verse 2] I leave the bench. Old office. Old ledger. Twenty-forty. There it is. Same model. Same number. Returned. [Instrumental Transition] Could’ve been rebuilt. Certified again. So I check. [Verse 3] No previous owner. Factory original. Always with this frame. I read it twice. [Hook 2] Check the screen. Check the book. Same number. They don’t agree. Heard the talk since forty. Federal work. Restricted units. Never gave it much thought. Maybe that’s what they meant. [Instrumental Passage] Recovery bin beside the bench. I leave the core where it is. Keeping it isn’t new. [Turning Point] Terminal asks where it went. I mark it: returned. Then the book. [Final Section] Same column. Same hand. I wrote “returned.” The core is still on my desk. It wasn’t. [Outro] I close the book. [Instrumental Outro]
