Whom Shall I Fear? Luke 12.4-5

Intro When the night comes closing in, And every shadow speaks, There is Christ's voice beyond the fear That calls my heart to peace. Verse 1 They can take the breath I breathe, They can shake the ground beneath, They can build their walls of power, But they cannot own my soul. When the world says, “Run away,” When my courage starts to break, I remember Jesus who is standing When the trembling fades away. Pre-Chorus So I lift my eyes above Every threat and every lie— There is One who holds eternity, And He will not pass me by. Chorus Whom shall I fear? Whom shall I fear? When Jesus, the Maker of forever is near? Though the darkness rises, Though the whole world shakes, I will stand in truth— I will not be afraid. Whom shall I fear? Whom shall I fear? There is Christ's holy voice that I hear. Not the voice of terror, Not the voice of men— I will trust my God Again and again. Verse 2 There are things this world can break, There are roads that bend and shake, There are hands that hold the power To wound the body here. But beyond this fragile life, Beyond sorrow, beyond night, There is judgment, there is mercy, There is the Lord God who sees it all. Pre-Chorus So I won't bow down to fear, I won't trade my faith for peace. If the cost of standing faithful Is the storm, then let it be. Bridge Holy Lord God, Teach my heart to stand. When I cannot see tomorrow, I will trust Your hand. Take away Every lesser fear. Let my life remember Who is truly near. If I walk through fire— You are still my God. If I walk through darkness— You are still my God. If the whole world turns against me— You are still my God. Final Chorus Whom shall I fear? Whom shall I fear? Jesus, my Redeemer is forever near. Though the darkness rises, Though the whole world shakes, I will stand in God's holy truth— I will not be afraid. Whom shall I fear? Whom shall I fear? Let every trembling heart hear: There is the One God above all power, One whose kingdom never ends. I will trust my God Again and again. Outro When the last shadow disappears, There will be nothing left to fear. I know Whom I have trusted. Yes, I know Whom I have trusted. Whom shall I fear? Whom shall I fear?
