'Last Stop' I was driving by the old home place When I recognized A familiar face, It's been a lot of years But I held back the tears As we talked of all the dreams we chased.... I said, 'I was lucky to make it to here' As we laughed and talked over a beer Putting the rough times aside, We tried to keep it upbeat While stumbling to our feet As we got into the pick-up to take a ride.... We rode over some sacred memories While we both looked straight ahead, A lot of time had gone by, When I was asked, 'Where was I laying my head?'.... 'Well', I said, 'I didn't think I'd make it this far', 'I guess wherever I hang my hat that ain't behind bars'.... A second didn't go by till I heard, 'We been riding on my land and those cows are my herd'.... 'You see, Unlike you Pop, I made my stop a long time ago', 'And we ain't getting no younger and you been everywhere and have no place to go'.... 'So pick you out a spot It's time for you to stop Cause we got a lot of time to make up', 'You can have a cabin, a little shop and a place to park your truck'.... 'And later we'll gather round the campfire, And you can tell stories to the grandkids while you look 'em in the eyes'.... He said, ' this is your Last Stop and you're gonna Love it here', And I shed a tear....end..
