Christmas Night
Verse (Narration continue) It’s cold up here, colder than I’d known, I drift in silence, in a world all my own. Christmas night, the streets were bleak, No joy, just shadows, just another week. I was out hustlin', hands stained in green, Pushin' Christmas Weed, feedin' the machine. Looked through windows, saw families warm, Me, I was freezin', a slave to the norm. Police lights flash, felt my heart race, Couldn’t lose the cash, but I lost the chase. Slipped on the ice, felt my pockets drain, Left with nothin' but snow and shame. Ran through alleys, lungs on fire, Tryin' to escape from the crossin' wire. Lost my grip, lost my way, Owin' a debt I couldn’t repay. I thought I was safe, but fate wasn’t kind, Rival elves lurkin', hatred defined. Didn’t see 'em comin', they closed in tight, Silent killers in the Christmas night. First came words, then fists like stone, Face in the snow, skin to the bone. Reached for my piece, didn’t think twice, Pulled the trigger, paid the price. Echoes fade, they scattered and fled, Left me there with a body, red on red. I looked at my hands, shakin' and cold, Realized right then I’d sold my soul. Christmas lights, blurred in sight, Mixed with blood on that holy night. Didn’t know then, but I know now, That I was crossin' my final vow. Made it back home, heart heavy as lead, Met the crew, told 'em what I’d bled. They nodded slow, no words, no blame, Just pointed to pockets, the debt, the shame. Led me down to a room like a grave, Said, “Up here, weak souls we don’t save.” Door slammed shut, cold and tight, Learned the truth on Christmas night. And now I’m floatin', seein' it clear, All the mistakes, the wasted years. Christmas bells ringin' far below, While I drift above in the cold, cold snow. The North Pole’s cruel, no place to fall, Up here, you stumble, they take it all. So if you hear me, take this right, Beware the cost on a Christmas night.
