Footprint

Since the days when you were still so small, you were always gazing far away. The light was shining gently on your back, the morning when the world began to wake. What words could I have spoken then to you? I only found “take care” before you left. You turned around and gave a fleeting smile, a worried frown—that surely came from me. Even if you try to take good care, hardship will surely come and find you still. And yet excuses never can be shields, still you will step ahead—your very first.
