THE BILL OF DEATH (Verse 1) Monday morning, the alarm clock screamed I rolled over in bed, but my back seized up Went straight to the kitchen for coffee and a thrill Shouted, “Good morning, world!” and the jar took a spill. Then I turned on the TV to brighten up my day The reporter looked at me and said prices were on their way Up went the rice, the meat, and electricity, too If things look bad for the Pope, Jesus, what are we supposed to do! (Chorus) One eye on the screen, the other on my statement My bank balance vanished like a cat making an escape!
