Before You Were Born By Julie K. Barnett

Verse 1 I knew your name before you could breathe, Wrote your story on eternity’s sleeve. Every heartbeat, every spark of light, Was sung in heaven before the night. I held your soul in a sacred place, Whispered hope into time and space. Every prayer, every tender chord, Was spoken for you… before you were born. --- Pre-Chorus I saw the roads that you would take, The love you’d give, the hearts you’d break. Through every shadow, through every storm, I called you mine before you were born. --- Chorus Before you were born, I dreamed of your face, Carved your name in the arms of grace. Through oceans of time, through galaxies wide, I kept your soul right by My side. Before you were born, I carried you near, Through the silence, through the years. Every promise heaven has sworn— Was waiting for you before you were born. --- Verse 2 When you stumble, when you fall apart, I’ll hold your hand, I’ll guard your heart. Every tear that you’ve ever cried, I bottled them all on the other side. The stars remember, the earth can feel, The covenant made was strong and real. Every battle, every scar you’ve worn, I knew them all… before you were born. --- Bridge Nothing can steal what love began, I wrote your name in the Savior’s hands. Before the dawn, before the morn— You were mine before you were born. --- Final Chorus Before you were born, I dreamed of your face, Carved your name in the arms of grace. Through oceans of time, through galaxies wide, I kept your soul right by My side. Before you were born, I carried you near, Through the silence, through the years. Every promise heaven has sworn— Was waiting for you before you were born. Outro: And I’ll love you forever… like I did before you were born.
