FRANK 009 – Vaults and Charnel Houses | Frankenstein

(Verse 1) He left the waking city for the chambers of the dead, Where dissecting rooms and graveyards fed the purpose in his head. He searched through human ruin where corruption took its course, And gathered what remained to shape a body from its source. (Verse 2) The charnel houses opened where the buried forms were laid, And midnight hid the labour that no conscience should have made. From bone and flesh and sinew he assembled limb and frame, While every stolen fragment lost the history of its name. (Chorus) Through vaults and charnel houses Victor worked beyond the light, And stitched a human likeness from the harvest of the night. He traded sleep and fellowship for one forbidden birth, And built his dream of mastery from the remnants of the earth. (Verse 3) The seasons turned unnoticed while his family waited far, For obsession drew him inward like a cold and narrowing star. No letter broke the silence and no friendship crossed the door, As every hour of labour only bound him to it more. (Verse 4) He chose a giant stature so the finer parts might yield, And worked until the hidden shape beneath the cloth was sealed. What once had been a theory now possessed a human form, Awaiting one last summons through the darkness and the storm. (Chorus) Through vaults and charnel houses Victor worked beyond the light, And stitched a human likeness from the harvest of the night. He traded sleep and fellowship for one forbidden birth, And built his dream of mastery from the remnants of the earth. (Bridge) The dead became his materials, the grave became his mine, And every moral boundary dissolved beneath design. He saw no stolen history in the pieces he had claimed, Only the coming triumph of the life he meant to name. (Outro) So deep within his chamber lay the body nearly whole, A monument to knowledge without mercy, bond, or soul. The vaults had given Victor all the fragments he could take, And only breath was missing from the thing he meant to wake.
