👑🌴 : ''Ms Shades Vibes"
The owl" Hoot-Hoot-Hoot!" lands soft on the beam above the juice hut, feathers catching Solaris light like bits of bronze flame. Drums roll from a busker down the promenade, the air thick with salt, sweet fruit, and laughter. Behind the counter, Ms Shades lifts her Solaris visor, wipes her hands, and smiles — slow, knowing, real. “Lawd, look who di sea send back. Mi been watchin’ you, Chill. From di day di Tower catch fire, mi know yuh spirit still blaze.” Her accent rolls like warm surf, each word dipped in melody. Chill sets down the buggy, eyes steady. “She’s gone, Shades. Wee-Ma. You know where they took her?” Ms Shades leans her hip against the counter, gaze turned seaward. “Taken, yes… but nuh lost, my chile. Dem Null-shadow tink dem clever — movin’ people through signal, not street. Brighton just one gate in di chain. Dem usin’ di same current weh light up di pier fi mask dem tracks.” "Captain Ecco-G-Flex01" huumms through Chill’s earpiece, voice precise and chrome-smooth: > “Confirmed, Chill. Residual Sapp-hire flux detected southeast. Her echo fragments align offshore, near the turbine fields.” Chill looks past the shoreline, fists light on the buggy handles. “So not here,” she murmurs. Ms Shades chuckles, but her eyes glint sharp. “Not here, nuh yet. But Brighton got di key. Nulls feed pon joy — all dis colour, all dis song. Find where dem feed, an’ you goin’ find di line to yuh Wix.” The owl drops from the beam with a slow wingbeat, landing beside the juice counter — talons tapping twice. A shimmer arcs across the pebbles — faint coordinates flickering like sunlight on oil. Ms Shades hands Chill a cup of golden smoothie, fruit and sea-mint twisting in the air. “Tek yuh sip, my sweet Chill,” she says, smile curling. “Welcome to di fight. But nuh one hero move pon empty belly.” Scene: “The Parrot & the Plate” — Ms Shades’ Juice Joint, Brighton Promenade The owl has vanished into the shimmer of sea-mist, but the air inside the hut is alive — steel drum hums, wind chimes glitter, and a small holo-fan spins lazy over a counter stacked with ripe fruit and glowing jars. Chill sits at a corner stool, watching Ms Shades toss something sizzling in a solar skillet. The scent alone could reset the cosmos. Then— A flash of emerald feathers drops onto the counter, squawking like a gossip columnist late for deadline. Swark! -Sswark! “Bwoy, Miss Shades, yuh leavin’ mi t’starve again? Whole day mi talkin’ and yuh feed di Chill first!” The parrot struts toward Chill, head bobbing, eyes flickering with neon data-rings. Ms Shades laughs, waving her spatula like a queen dismissing drama. “Hush yuh beak, PepperSass. If mi did feed yuh every time yuh chat, mi woulda outta food since last Solar-cycle!” Chill can’t help a grin. “Does it… always talk this much?” she asks. 🦜The parrot puffs his chest feathers, indignant. “Talk? TALK?“Talk? TALK? Mi broadcast truth, baby! Mi is Brighton’s number one newsfeed. Nulls can’t hide nuttin’ from PepperSass!” He flaps once, landing near the buggy, tilting his head. Swark! -Sswark! -“Dat yuh ride, Chill-gal? Chrome looking sweet! Yuh Captain in there too? Eyyy! - Eyyy! Eyyy! - Eyyy!,, mi see yuh glow, Cap-Cap!” Captain Ecco-G-Flex01’s tone 'BZzzzs! from Chill’s wrist display, half amused: > “Acknowledged, PepperSass. Your data retention rate is— approximately eighty percent noise.” Swark! -Sswark! “Noise?!” the parrot screeches. “Yuh rude, chrome-boy! Noise is how mi make sense sing!” Ms Shades slides a plate before Chill — a vivid mosaic of Solaris rice, spiced plant-cut fritters, seaweed crisps, and a drizzle of glowing mango reduction. “Eat, Chill,” she says, warmth under her sass. “PepperSass might drive yuh mad, but dat parrot been mi eyes long before Null’s shadow crawl inna di light.” Chill takes a bite, and for the first time in what feels like a thousand circuits, she smiles. The world outside still hums with unseen tension — but right here, on this small strip of Solaris paradise, laughter hums louder - ''hahahah -hehehe" "hahahah-hehehe '' ( Joyous Laughter) The buggy’s sensors blink softly beside her — and from somewhere beyond the glass, Hoot’s faint silhouette passes once again. "Hoot-Hoot-Hoot -hoot!"
