Hold to the Promise

[Verse] You prayed through You prayed through the quiet You cried through the years You carried one longing Through silence and tears The hunger stayed gentle It would not depart Like a seed in the stillness Still warm in your heart [Verse] It was not weakness It was not shame A holy desire Still calling your name When lonely hours Tried pulling you low You turned back to prayer And learned how to grow [Chorus] Peace through the waiting Light through the rain Love is not rushing It learns through the pain When the road feels heavy And the night moves slow Heaven is working Where you cannot know Hold to the promise Do not let go Do not let go Do not let go [Verse] Someone kept rising Inside every prayer Not like a fever Not smoke in the air Quiet and steady With blessing in view Less about wanting More grace breaking through [Verse] You looked for the fruit Not a flawless design A heart still returning A soul on the climb Not perfect in motion Not clean of the past But changed by the fire And learning to last [Chorus] Peace through the waiting Light through the rain Love is not rushing It learns through the pain When the road feels heavy And the night moves slow Heaven is working Where you cannot know Hold to the promise Do not let go Do not let go Do not let go [Bridge] Hard does not always mean The door has been closed Some flowers are planted Where cold water flows But pain without purpose Can darken the view So listen for wisdom From those who love you [Verse] When counsel is honest And peace still remains When faith becomes stronger Through trials and stains When being together Does not dim your flame But calls you much higher To walk without shame [Chorus] Peace through the waiting Light through the rain Love is not rushing It learns through the pain When the road feels heavy And the night moves slow Heaven is working Where you cannot know Hold to the promise Do not let go Do not let go Do not let go [Outro] So walk with open hands Let fear fall behind What grows you in love May be Heaven’s sign And after the silence When mercy moves slow You may find the answer Where deep waters flow Peace through the waiting Still starts to glow Starts to glow Starts to glow
