A shadow falls across the brightest sun Before the beating heart has scarce begun A quiet terror in the mother’s sigh The silent question when the soldiers die We walk this paradise of gold and green But let the river of our sorrow intervene We build a prison from our fleeting breath And call this heavy darkness the fear of death. We fear the living and we dread the end Trapped within a night we can't defend But when will the prodigal awake and comprehend? Look beyond the fear, beyond the endless night! The earth was forged in fire to hold the light It wasn’t made for shadows or the killing sword But for a human heaven where love is the reward You cannot sow the weeds to make the garden grow Let the heavy chains of terror go! We split the atom and we rule the sky We build machines of peace that only multiply The very discord we are trying to cease We think the weapon is the pathway to our peace But listen closely to the dying cry An ancient instinct reaching to the sky From the animal to human, in the deep Calling to the Providence that never goes to sleep. Even in the deepest hell, a candle softly burns A memory of the Father, as the weary spirit yearns We are waking from the darkness, we are waking from the Fall To a science of the spirit that brings harmony to all. Yes, the world is waking up to hear the call! Look beyond the fear, beyond the endless night! The earth was forged in fire to hold the light! It wasn’t made for shadows or the killing sword But for a human heaven where love is the reward! You cannot sow the weeds to make the garden grow Let the heavy chains of terror go! Beyond the fear of death... The organic connection... A paradise of love.
