What a beautiful day it was to return to
What a beautiful day it was to return to the countryside with my sister Ginette and my brother René—it is an annual pilgrimage to the resting place of my ancestors in the Celtic land of Ontario. Today, I went to South Glengarry Township, Ontario, to visit the St. Margaret of Scotland Cemetery in Glen Nevis, where several of my Castonguay ancestors are buried, including my grandmother Angéline Lacombe-Castonguay and my grandfather Antoine Castonguay, his father Antoine Castonguay and his mother Louise Larocque, as well as his brother and his wife: Alexandre Castonguay and Alma Roussin. My uncle René Lacombe, the brother of Grandma Angéline, is also buried there. Glen Nevis is part of the former Township of Lancaster. Along its roads, one also comes across Bainsville, Brown House Corner, Dalhousie Mills, Glen Norman, Bridge End, Curry Hill, Pine Hill, Lancaster Heights, Maple Hill, North Lancaster Station, Picnic Grove, Redwood Estates, Brittania Point, Creg Quay, Faulkners Point, Nadeaus Point, Pointe Mouillée, and Westleys Point.
