Created to Restore

V6

Before I ever understood it, Before I knew what cells could do, A billion little conversations Were already carrying me through. Heartbeat. Breath. Repair. Repeat. A cut becomes a closing, A broken bone rebuilds, The blood knows where it’s going, The lungs keep breathing still. Temperature keeps balancing, The heart adjusts the flow, Messages race through neurons To places I will never know. While I’m sleeping, something’s working. While I’m dreaming, something mends. Every second, every system Adjusts and starts again. I don’t have to tell my heartbeat, “Remember what to do.” I don’t have to teach a wound How to start becoming new. There’s a rhythm underneath me, A design I can’t ignore— I was created to restore, Repairing behind every door, Adapting, balancing, Changing when I need it more. From the heartbeat to the bloodstream, From the marrow to the core, There’s a thousand quiet miracles I never noticed before. I am fearfully, wonderfully made, More than I can understand— Every breath reminds me There’s intention in these hands. Created to adapt. Created to endure. Created with a body Always reaching to restore. Muscles answer movement, Bones respond to weight, The body learns the rhythm Of the burdens that we take. Eyes adjust to darkness, Skin rebuilds its wall, The nervous system listens For the slightest rise and fall. Immune cells stand like watchmen, Hormones carry signs, Organs work together Without asking for my mind. And somehow in the background While I’m busy living life, A universe inside me Keeps adjusting day and night. Not invincible, not endless, Not untouched by hurt or pain— But astonishingly resilient, Always reaching toward balance again. I was created to restore, Repairing behind every door, Adapting, balancing, Changing when I need it more. From the heartbeat to the bloodstream, From the marrow to the core, There’s a thousand quiet miracles I never noticed before. I am fearfully, wonderfully made, More than I can understand— Every breath reminds me There’s intention in these hands. Cell by cell. Breath by breath. Day by day. Rest by rest. Restore… Restore… When I sleep— Restore. When I nourish— Restore. When I move— Adapt. When I stumble— Come back. When I’m weary— Rest. When I’m anxious— Breathe. There is wisdom written deeper Than the things my eyes can see. Heartbeat— Bloodstream— Nervous system— Energy— Bone and muscle, Skin and breath, Working while I’m wide awake, Working while I rest. CREATED! TO REPAIR! CREATED! TO ADAPT! CREATED! WITH A THOUSAND SYSTEMS WORKING THROUGH THE DARK! I WAS CREATED TO RESTORE! There’s more happening than I ever knew before, Every heartbeat, every breath, Every system doing what it can. Not a machine, Not without limits, Not promised never to hurt— But what a wonder That this body keeps working To protect this life on Earth. Fearfully! Wonderfully! Intricately made! The deeper that I look inside, The more I’m left amazed. Heartbeat. Breath. Repair. Repeat. Heartbeat. Breath. Repair. Repeat. I didn’t create the rhythm… BUT I WAS CREATED TO RESTORE. And even while I sleep… The work goes on.
