1. O God, my righteous plea, Hear me when I call! In mercy, answer me— You freed me once before. 2. O men, how long will you Turn my glory to shame? How long will you chase a lie, And love what is vain? 3. But know this: the Lord Has set apart His own. He hears me when I cry, I am not alone. 4. Tremble, and sin no more, Be still upon your bed. Search deep within your heart, And offer truth instead. 5. Many ask, “Who will show Some good to us below?” But lift the light of Your face— That joy, Lord, let me know. 6. More gladness fills my heart Than harvests in their prime, Than wine and wheat in store, Or wealth of golden time. 7. In peace I’ll lie and sleep, For You alone, O Lord, Make me dwell secure— My shelter, shield, and sword.
