[Verse 1] We woke up under a violet sky With gold on our faces and sleep in our eyes No map, no signal, no reason why Just heat on the highway and hands held high Glass in the distance kept flashing blue Like the future was waving us into the view The sun fell low, but we stayed lit Just two little sparks that refused to quit We were barefoot on the painted line Chasing daylight like it owed us time Every shadow had a silver edge Every heartbeat sounded like a pledge [Pre-Chorus] If it’s not real Let it feel real If it won’t last Let it burn fast If we get lost We get found in the glow Everybody knows [Chorus] We are mirage kids Gold light, sunlit Running where the sky bends Never gonna quit We are mirage kids Bright eyes, loose grip Dancing on the edge of Everything we miss Mirage kids Mirage kids Running where the sky bends Never gonna quit [Verse 2] Blue glass towers in the rearview fade Pink dust rising like a downtown parade Your laugh hit loud through the radio haze Like a song from a station that forgot its name We had cheap white sneakers and expensive plans Red sun melting in our open hands Tried to catch it, but it slipped right through Still looked pretty when it split in two No one back home would believe this scene Two little sparks in a heatwave dream All that sky came breaking through Like the end of the world had a better view [Pre-Chorus] If it’s not real Let it feel real If it won’t last Let it burn fast If we get lost We get found in the glow Everybody knows [Chorus] We are mirage kids Gold light, sunlit Running where the sky bends Never gonna quit We are mirage kids Bright eyes, loose grip Dancing on the edge of Everything we miss Mirage kids Mirage kids Running where the sky bends Never gonna quit [Outro / Final Pre-Chorus] If it’s not real Let it feel real If it won’t last Let it burn fast If we get lost We get found in the glow Everybody knows
