Weekness to strengthen acts 2:38

(Verse 1) They talk about the water How you sank beneath the waves Yet who was the one who left the boat When the others stayed afraid They talk about the courtyard How your courage came undone But you were the one who followed close When the others chose to run (Pre Chorus) Burning wild To burning true Tame the fire in me And make it burn for you (Chorus) You did not take the fire from me You taught it where to burn You did not crush the rush in me You showed my heart to turn What fear had bent toward hiding What pride had set askew The Spirit makes it holy Weakness becomes strength in you (Verse 2) They talk about the rooster How it cried out in the dawn But mercy met you by the fire And called your courage on Three times you had denied Him Three times He asked for love Then placed the sheep within your hands And raised your eyes above (Pre Chorus) Burning wild To burning true Tame the fire in me And make it burn for you (Chorus) You did not take the fire from me You taught it where to burn You did not crush the rush in me You showed my heart to turn What fear had bent toward hiding What pride had set askew The Spirit makes it holy Weakness becomes strength in you (Verse 3 ) They waited in the upper room Until the promised power came The wind of heaven filled the house And set their hearts aflame Then Peter stood before the crowd No longer ruled by fear The voice that once denied the Lord Now made His mercy clear (Pre bridge) What was wild in my hands Can be strong in your light Make it holy God Make it holy Make it right (Bridge - spoken scripture) Peter preached on Pentecost Repent and be baptized In the name of Jesus Christ For the forgiveness of your sins And you will receive The gift of the Holy Spirit (Chorus ) You did not take the fire from me You taught it where to burn You did not crush the rush in me You showed my heart to turn What fear had bent toward hiding What pride had set askew The Spirit makes it holy Weakness becomes strength in you (Outro) Burning wild To burning true Tame the fire in me And make it burn for you
