[Verse 1] In Eden's garden when the world was new The first breath of morning, the sky was still blue He gave the command to walk in converse Then the man and the woman uniting their verse It's more than acquaintance, deeper than sight A bond held in darkness and a bond held in light It's the silent surrender, the trust fully earned The lesson of living that must now be learned…. [Chorus male and female backing vocals] Love's facade must fall, the surface must go We don't serve God just for show Because Yada means to know What good is the work if the intimacy fails? What good are the mountains if the valley prevails? The saddest words ever spoken, the most bitter truth To have missed the Master in the spring of your youth Depart from me worker of iniquity if His spirit cries out I never knew the, oh to know Him, to truly be known Is worth more than any jewel on His throne… [Verse 2] He cleanses the bride that He came down to claim Washing the blemish, removing the stain He loves the church deeply, He died for the price To present her in glory, prepared sacrifice Without spot, without wrinkle, without fault in the heart It means giving Him every single fragmented part This covenant love is a fire that burns A divine transformation in every turn [Chorus male and female backing vocals] Love's facade must fall, the surface must go We don't serve God just for show Because Yada means to know What good is the work if the intimacy fails? What good are the mountains if the valley prevails? The saddest words ever spoken, the most bitter truth To have missed the Master in the spring of your youth Depart from me worker of iniquity if His spirit cries out I never knew thee, oh to know Him, to truly be known Is worth more than any jewel on the throne. [Outro male and female backing vocals] He promised the remnant, the children He chose They shall all know the Lord from the highest to the lowest No shadow between us, no distance remains Just the knowledge of God washing over the pains This is the love that will never depart The sealing of truth in the depths of your heart I need to know You We don't serve God just for show because Yada means to know [no instruments] I need to know You…. [Piano fade out]
