Little Shadow, Little Light (Lynneae's Lullaby for Sera)

[Soft wordless humming — two bars, the melody only] Little shadow, little light, dark hair curled against the night, your mother's eyes in someone else's face — you hold two kingdoms in this quiet place. Hm-mm-mm... hm-mm-mm... Sleep now, little impossible thing, half of void and half of spring. The abyss is far, the fire is near — you were wanted, you are here. [Wordless — repeat the opening melody, softer] There were flowers in the dark where you began, and a boy who crossed the water, and a man who could not love the way that love is meant — but you are what they made. And you are meant. Hm-mm-mm... sleep now... Little shadow. Little light.
