[Instrumental Intro]
(low broken electro groove, deep sub pulse, dry muted mechanical details, no vocals)

[Verse 1]

The box says
Two people recommended

There’s only me

So I drag one end
Across the rug

Open the cardboard
With a kitchen knife

Panel A
Panel B
Four wooden dowels

One rolls
Under the sofa

I find it
Beside an old receipt

The instructions
Have no words

Just two floating hands
And arrows

Apparently
That should be enough

[Pre-Chorus]

Halfway through
I’ve used the wrong hole

Take it apart

Do it again

This time
The corners meet

[Chorus]

One screw left

No hole left open

I check the sides
I check the bottom

One screw left

The shelf stands straight

I put it on the table
Look at the page again

One screw left

Still in my hand

Everything is finished

So what was this for?

[Instrumental]
(rubbery bass movement, clipped low percussion, cold synth pulse)

[Verse 2]

The back panel
Takes six tiny nails

I bend the first one

Use another

The neighbour upstairs
Starts drilling something

Stops

Starts again

Fair enough

I tighten the last corner
With the small metal key

Quarter turn

Then another

Stand the whole thing up

Push the top

Nothing moves

I push harder

Still nothing

Good

[Pre-Chorus]

I count the screws
In the drawing

Then the empty bag

Then the drawing
One more time

[Chorus]

One screw left

No hole left open

I check the sides
I check the bottom

One screw left

The shelf stands straight

I put it on the table
Look at the page again

One screw left

Still in my hand

Everything is finished

So what was this for?

[Instrumental Passage]
(sub becomes heavier, broken rhythm opens into wider negative space)

[Bridge]

I put three books
On the middle shelf

A plant
On the top

Step back

Slightly left

Move the plant

Better

The screw is still
Beside the instructions

Waiting
For a problem

That hasn’t happened

[Final Chorus]

One screw left

No hole left open

The books stay still
The shelf stays level

One screw left

I give up looking

Kitchen drawer

Second one down

Batteries
Tape
Two unknown keys

Now one screw

[Outro]
(bass drops away, one muted pulse, short dry click)
