Teen Years

[Instrumental] [Verse 1] 30 years from now I’ll be looking back Knowing that these were the best parts of life All my friends will know it too They’re also looking back Knowing life has lows, but those years were always highs Mmm We’ll think about [Chorus] Doing things we thought were cool Hanging out and breaking the rules Finding our own place right here Yeah that's the glory of those teen years [Instrumental] [Verse 2] And in a couple of years I’ll be growing up Driving cars, staying out, then sneaking back in I’ll be sitting with a beer Will some bills to pay Knowing that was my life being lived to its fullest Mmm And then I’ll think about [Chorus] Doing things we thought were cool Hanging out and breaking the rules Finding our own place right here Yeah thats the glory of those teen years Exploring love for the first time Saving up your pennies and dimes Doing things like we had nothing to fear Yeah that's the glory of those teen years [Guitar Solo] [Hook] And when I’m on my death-bed With all my family around me There’s gonna be one thought runnin’ through my head (My time as a teen) And if I get live again Even though it sounds crazy I’ll be waiting for the glory years (My time as a teen) Mmm I’ll be thinking ‘bout Doing things we thought were cool Hanging out and breaking the rules Finding our own place right here (our own place right here) Yeah that’s the glory of those teen years! [Chorus] Exploring love for the first time Saving up pennies and dimes Doing things like we had nothing to fear Yeah that's the glory of Doing things we thought were cool (we thought were cool) Hanging out and breaking the rules (breaking the rules) Finding our own place right here (mmm) Yeah that's the glory of those teen years Exploring love for the first time (for the first time) Saving up pennies and dimes (pennies and dimes) Doing things like we had nothing to fear (mm) Yeah that's the glory of those teen years Yeah that's the glory of those teen years Mmm
