Track 24. SAMSON - "Strength and Weakness"

Verse 1:
Before his birth an angel came,
"A Nazirite he'll be,
No razor to his head shall come,
God's power all will see."
With strength beyond all mortal men,
A lion torn in two,
A thousand fell before his hand,
When God's spirit moved through. Chorus:
Strength in his hair, but weakness in his heart,
The mighty judge who'd fall apart.
Called to deliver, chosen from birth,
But passions would prove his worth.
In the end he'd call on God's name,
And bring the temple down in flame. Verse 2:
Delilah's words like honey sweet,
Would wear his will away,
"Tell me the secret of your strength,"
She'd ask him every day.
At last he told the truth she sought,
His hair cut while he slept,
And when he woke, God's spirit gone,
The mighty Samson wept. Chorus:
Strength in his hair, but weakness in his heart,
The mighty judge who'd fall apart.
Called to deliver, chosen from birth,
But passions would prove his worth.
In the end he'd call on God's name,
And bring the temple down in flame. Bridge:
Blinded, bound, and made to grind,
A spectacle of shame,
But as his hair began to grow,
He called on God's great name.
Between the pillars there he stood,
"Remember me once more,"
And with his final act of strength,
Three thousand hit the floor. Final Chorus:
Strength in his hair, but weakness in his heart,
A mighty judge who fell apart.
Called to deliver, chosen from birth,
His final act proved his worth.
In the end he called on God's name,
And brought the temple down in flame.
