[Verse 1] Found a paper cup moon On the laundromat floor Spun it with my thumb Watched it roll to the door Quarter in my palm Ticket in my shoe I was heading nowhere Then I bumped into you [Pre-Chorus] And the day felt small Then it cracked in two One little tilt And I was laughing too [Chorus] Paper cup moon Paper cup moon Hold the strange light close Paper cup moon Paper cup moon Paper cup moon One cheap little spark And the whole room moved [Verse 2] You had a grocery bag Full of oranges and doubt Said your luck was thin But you’d figure it out I said “keep that change” For a bus ride home You said “I might stay If the night says so” [Pre-Chorus] And the street looked plain Then it turned to gold One small spin And we both let go [Chorus] Paper cup moon Paper cup moon Hold the strange light close Paper cup moon Paper cup moon Paper cup moon One cheap little spark And the whole room moved [Bridge] Maybe that’s all we get A little shine in the rain A dented little miracle With a tiny silver stain [Final Chorus] Paper cup moon Paper cup moon Hold the strange light close Paper cup moon Paper cup moon Paper cup moon One cheap little spark And the whole room moved
