Then a Bridge Appeared

+ Show full styles

The chasm, a bottomless pit, Dug deep by my own might, Separated me from God’s pure grace, Plunged me into the darkest night. A desperate fall, a deep descent, Into the shadows, forever lost, No one could help undo this death, No one able to pay the cost. Then a Bridge appeared, Built of love and sacrifice, A crimson arch that beckoned me, To cross over to eternal life. So powerless I found myself, To even make a move, I felt a tugging at my heart, Being drawn by God’s cords of love. Jesus, the architect, the very stone, Laid down to death, yet held me strong, When I knelt down, He grasped my hand, Right then I knew that all my sin was gone. He is that triumphant bridge, Built on love and sacrifice, His crimson blood was shed for me, To give me everlasting life. Now, a path unfolds for me, A gentle slope ascending high, Away from darkness, to glorious light, God ever draws me nigh. Glory unveiled, a radiant dawn, In the finished work, in the risen Christ, I stand forgiven, redeemed, restored, Forever His who paid the price.
