[GEKIJOU] - The Sole Performance in a Glass-Cast World
HOSI NO MAKIMONO Thirtieth Release: "[GEKIJOU] - The Sole Performance in a Glass-Cast World" There are lyrics for this song. Whether they carry meaning is up for debate, but the actor upon the stage believes so, and would appreciate it if you listened closely. [GEKIJOU] may be the most "standard" song I've released thus far, and could be considered a contradiction to my usual style in that sense. However, a story told in a more direct manner has its merits as well, and I am content in my belief that this one holds just as much power as any other. ーーーーーーーーーー [Intro] Ladies, and gentlemen, and friends of all persuasions. I beseech thee, gather round as I pass down this declaration. The curtain, of the grandest and most tragic show is soon to fall. So please, my dear audience, I implore you. Witness it all. [Verse] The spokes, they turn, And the candles, yes, they burn, On this greatest stage of fate! Yet the weight, is far too great, For all your pure and free souls to bear! Pull up a chair. There's a long road ahead, A procession paved with the dead. Even on the far less trodden path, Our marks shall be etched in red. [Bridge] (I am the one who embodies the myth,) (That the lies and the truth are but one and the same.) (Cut my heart open, I still plead the fifth!) (In this game,) (May you unveil my name!) [Chorus] O, what fate awaits this day? Paint me picturesque, as my fabric starts to fray! Tales of silver, etched in gold. O, they waken as the grand bell tolls. Tell me, Why must we all hide our eyes? Shut the window to our souls? Spare me, Even if I showed you mine, There is nothing, nothing to be told. [Interlude] Listen. A whisper. Yes, a tale borne from the stars. They tell me of the warmth in your heart, A pure little sliver, not yet left to rot. Hearken. A chorus. Yes, the heavens call your name. A spot may yet remain vacant for you, Should you find the will to change. [Pre-Chorus] "But you won't, No, you won't, No, there's no fucking chance!", Scream the voices in your head! In my humble assessment, you ought to STRIKE THEM DEAD! Forge ahead! [Chorus] O, dear fate, is it my turn? Paint us picturesque, as the bridges start to burn! String of fate, bullet so cold, Noble knight, pray sever them with your sword! Tell me, Why do you still hide your eyes? What is hidden in your soul? Grace me, Though I will not show you mine, Mysteries are meant to one day unfold. [Reprise] O, fate shall not turn its gaze. Paint you picturesque, help you up from darkened days. Logic falters, keys are detuned, But you cast your hope to the sea far too soon! Tell me, Must I show you my true eyes? Bare the burning in my soul? Fell me, Then the curtain shall rise, There a friend shall stand, with naught to withhold. [Final Chorus] O, what fate awaits this day? Paint me picturesque, as my fabric starts to fray! Tails of silver, etched in gold. O, they waken as the grand bell tolls. Angels, Demons, Out of my face! Red and blue shall intertwine! Here we stand, On the greatest stage! Spinning tales, to resound through time... (Through time.) ーーーーーーーーーー The curtain falls as promised, and the actor exits stage left. With the release of [GEKIJOU], my third album of songs, [SCROLL OF TREASURES], is complete. Though it may not be apparent at a glance, this album is structured like a palindrome, featuring two characters each from five stories of mine that I consider to be some of my greatest "treasures". I hope this performance and the songs that came before were able to bring you some small sliver of enjoyment. Please stay tuned for future releases.
