[Verse 1] She was the Smoky Mountain Songbird, a lady with real sass her songs were loved by millions radiating warmth with class. [Verse 2] She was the queen of country and no one could deny the backwoods chanteuse shining with a sparkle in her eye. [Chorus] She knew the world she lived in she grew up in the rough she did not have it easy but experience made her tough. [Verse 3] Yet she always kept her kindness and her simple homely ways and her music fueled her passion through all her many days. [Chorus] The world will not forget her nor the music that she gave so to Dolly in the next world let’s all give her a wave. ©2026 Trevor Swistchew. All rights reserved.
