Christmas In The Gutters
I sit here all alone at a bench and think about my wasted life So sad to realize it's been a very long and tough strife In my worn-out clothes and with promises undone My poor life's come to an end, missed by nothing and noone ”The First Noel” brings no "tidings of comfort and joy" in the night. And ”The Herald Angels Sing”, but their message is lost in the white With weary thoughts and heavy heart, as the joyful festive carols play I'm just hoping for a beacon of light to guide me on my way And the snow keeps falling down, a shroud upon the ground No carols here, no Holy night Just the quiet, final cold all around The wind's a cruel companion, and the air is sharp as glass The people don't see the fading life, the quiet hard despair Just another frozen soul the world is quick to pass They step around my bench as if the space was empty air It's christmas in the gutters Now I'm just a ghost at the bench, a shadow on the ground In this cold and Silet Night I am no longer to be found But I will cheer you people who celebrates this sacred call From my point of nothing, a Merry Christmas to you all And the snow keeps falling down, a shroud upon the ground No carols here, no Holy night Just the quiet, final cold all around The wind's a cruel companion, and the air is sharp as glass The people don't see the fading life, the quiet hard despair Just another frozen soul the world is quick to pass They step around my bench as if the space was empty air It's christmas in the gutters And the snow keeps falling down, a shroud upon the ground No carols here, no Holy night Just the quiet, final cold all around The wind's a cruel companion, and the air is sharp as glass The people don't see the fading life, the quiet hard despair Just another frozen soul the world is quick to pass They step around my bench as if the space was empty air It's christmas in the gutters It's christmas in the gutters It's christmas in the gutters It's christmas in the gutters It's christmas in the gutters
