A melancholic yet catchy piano-pop song about a man ignored by a rushing crowd and one woman who chooses to stop. Intimate piano, heartfelt male vocals and an unforgettable chorus build into an emotional finale about compassion, human connection and the power of one small act of kindness. Bittersweet, cinematic and deeply human. The buses run. The lights keep changing. Everyone has somewhere to be. Rain darkened the pavement. Traffic crawled along the street. A man sat by the crossing, soaked through, barely moving. People glanced as they passed him. Some slowed, then carried on. A woman checked the time and hurried towards the station. He tried to get back up, but sank down once again. People stepped around him, their footsteps lost in the rain. They thought he would be all right. They didn't know what they should say. And with a hundred things to do, they simply walked away. They saw him, then walked on. The lights changed. The crowd moved on. No one knew what brought him there, or what he might need. He sat beside the crossing as the city rushed past him. She was late for the station. Her train would soon be gone. She passed him with the others and kept on moving. Someone else would help him. There were people all around. She followed with the crowd, her thoughts already elsewhere. But halfway to the station, she found herself looking back. He was still beside the crossing. No one had stopped for him. She didn't know his story. Didn't know what brought him there. She knew she'd seen him, and couldn't leave it there. They saw him, then walked on. The lights changed. The crowd moved on. No one knew what brought him there, or what he might need. He sat beside the crossing as the city rushed past him. Some were frightened. Some were late. Some kept hoping someone else would stop. She had no answers. Didn't know what she could do. Didn't know if he would speak or turn away from her. Her train was leaving. The rain kept falling. She looked towards the station. Then she turned around. She crossed back through the traffic and knelt beside him in the rain. "Can you hear me?" He lifted up his head. She waited for an answer. Nothing came just yet. Then she reached for her phone and called for help. A passer-by stopped beside them. Another came to help. Someone asked if he was hurt. Someone stayed beside them. The lights changed once again. The buses carried on. But people gathered round him now. He wasn't there alone. Someone stopped. Someone stayed. Someone asked him, "Are you okay?" No one knew what brought him there, or what he'd been through. But this time, someone stopped. And someone else did too. The city kept on moving. The rain fell just the same. But he was no longer sitting there while everyone walked away. Soon, the streets are busy. The buses fill again. The lights turn red, then green. The crowds move through the rain. And somewhere in the city, another day begins. Everyone has somewhere to be. But someone looks up. Someone slows down. Someone stays. The city never sleeps. And sometimes, someone stops.
