No longer silenced

V4.5

In the aftermath of the June 23, 2025 hidden camera incident at Kaiser, I experienced intimidation, silencing, and repeated retaliation. I was warned not to speak publicly about the incident and threatened with termination if I did. My paycheck was reduced to only $67.22 to last for three months, and my credibility was undermined when I inquired about early medical retirement. I was pressured to either resign or transfer to another facility under the vague suggestion of “bigger benefits.” I was later told that the phone involved in the incident was not recording and did not belong to anyone, even though Vallejo PD had already obtained a warrant by July 7. By that same date, Kaiser had taken over the investigation and removed Vallejo PD from the case, limiting the inquiry to only the phone rather than the act of voyeurism itself. I was forced to reopen the case on August 8 because the investigation was stalled, and the suspect was not questioned until two months later—only to deny involvement. Throughout the summer, I stayed isolated out of fear, knowing that the individual responsible still had access to the same spaces I once worked in. Despite numerous emails sent to the CEO of Kaiser requesting early medical retirement and a referral to a Qualified Medical Evaluator (QME), I remain trapped in uncertainty—bound by a system that continues to question when I will return to work. My answer remains clear: never. I was going to the bathroom singing “my my my, wtf” I was interrupted by a box of gloves sitting on the small dresser in front of me. Why is there a small hole and why is the box slightly tilted towards facing the toilet. My memory starts racing of the 1st time I saw the box of gloves appear in the bathroom at least a year earlier and then about 6 months earlier noticing the hole in the box and commenting in my head that “oh we must be doing target practice up here in vallejo” and then back to this very moment. Why are they large gloves, we are mostly women that work here and why do we have gloves exposed in the bathroom in the 1st place, that’s disgusting! So I make a comment out loud and say “I bet there’s a camera up in this motha fuckah” so I reach into the very full glove box expecting to feel the other side of the hole in the box, but instead I feel something hard! I pull the box closer and slightly tear the box open to reveal a burnt red iPhone with its camera hole matched up to the hole in the box! I instantly jump up and run out the door! 2 of my coworkers are sitting there. At this point I’m screaming “I feel something violated there’s a fuckin camera filming us pee” I put the box of gloves on the side table and then I rip the box open more and pull out the phone that is still recording. We all start to explore the phone trying to see the screen saver or the emergency button on the phone, but it’s stuck on a grey screen that reads iPhone storage full in a lighter greyed words! We notice the phone is 20% and in airplane mode! Shame on you do you know what that bathroom Was that was the very bathroom that moms go into before they’re about to go into surgery so you know where they get dressed and get completely naked in that very bathroom and they probably cry before their surgery and they’re supposed to be in a private moment, that is the very bathroom that when I lost the patient and I was soaked in blood, I went into and my tears blended in with this woman’s blood so you tell me oh it’s just a camera in a box it’s more than that it’s our privacy was violated not just mine all of ours, including patients and I’ve seen little children go into that very bathroom to use the restroom and somebody told me that it wasn’t recording bullshit. I’m the one who found it and it was very much so recording still by me tapping on it. It turned off the recording so don’t tell me what I witnessed. Don’t tell me that I said that I was going to resign because I’ve never said I was going to resign. I said I wanted an early retirement because you think I wanna go back to that place And be a part of a Stockholm syndrome. No thank you y’all must be Trippin to think that this is just a camera in a box you don’t know peoples past history. You don’t know if somebody got raped or if they’re coming out of a horrible toxic relationship. You don’t know what that triggered in me nor am I gonna tell you what it triggered in me Because you don’t care anyways you just think this being an open and close case don’t change my words around because you won’t do that I won’t allow you. Don’t tell me how that situation happened. So if you need me to say it with less emotion, How could you? That bathroom is not just any space; it's where mothers prepare for surgery, often in tears, facing a vulnerable moment. It’s the same bathroom where I found solace after losing a patient, my tears mixing with hers. This isn’t just about a camera hidden in a box; it's about a profound violation of privacy—our collective privacy, including that
