FRANK 008 – The Secret of Life | Frankenstein
(Verse 1) At Ingolstadt he entered halls where modern learning burned, And left the ancient masters for the truths that science learned. He studied flesh and structure where the laws of bodies hide, And followed every question to the boundary none had tried. (Verse 2) He watched the line where living warmth surrendered into clay, And traced the final motions as the human form gave way. Through anatomy and chemistry he sought the hidden spark, Until one buried principle arose within the dark. (Chorus) He found the secret passage where the dead might breathe again, A triumph born from knowledge and the arrogance of men. The mystery of living seemed surrendered to his sight, And death itself stood waiting to be challenged by his light. (Verse 3) The answer came not suddenly, but slowly took its form, From countless nights of study through the silence and the storm. No teacher stood beside him when the final veil was torn, For Victor crossed alone into the place where life is born. (Verse 4) He dreamed a generation might arise beneath his hand, And bless the one who brought them from the grave at his command. He thought that death might yield at last before the human mind, Yet never asked what duty such creation left behind. (Chorus) He found the secret passage where the dead might breathe again, A triumph born from knowledge and the arrogance of men. The mystery of living seemed surrendered to his sight, And death itself stood waiting to be challenged by his light. (Bridge) The knowledge should have humbled him before the final door, Instead it fed the hunger that demanded something more. What others feared as boundary, he welcomed as a gate, And stepped beyond all caution towards the hands of fate. (Outro) So life became a secret he believed was his to keep, A flame drawn from the darkness where the silent bodies sleep. The scholar had discovered what no wisdom could restrain, And every breath he dreamed to give would answer back in pain.
