There were no trees. No shade. Only heat and death. His name was Jadav Payeng. He sat down and wept. Then he began to plant. One tree a day. For forty years. What was once barren sand grew into a living forest larger than New York’s Central Park. Elephants came. Tigers came. Rhinos, deer, birds – life returned. But the work continued. He started a new forest with his daughter Munmuni. On December 28, 2025, someone set that new forest on fire. Munmuni and a few friends fought the flames all night with nothing but branches and bare hands. When the smoke cleared, Jadav and Munmuni returned and began planting again. This song is about that morning.
