NERATHIS EP: AFTER THE ASHFALL - TRACK 3 — NO HYMN FOR THE LIVING

[Ambient Intro – Distant Bells, Low Choir] The bells still ring But no one listens [Verse 1] The temples stand empty The altars cold The gods we called saviours Never grew old They heard every prayer And answered with flame Then left us to count The dead by name [Pre-Chorus] There are no words left That don’t sound like lies [Chorus] There is no hymn for the living No song left to sing All the prayers were answered With silence and ash If the gods are still watching They’ve turned away There is no hymn for the living Only echoes for the dead [Verse 2] We knelt in the ruins With blood on our hands Asked forgiveness For following commands But faith does not carry The weight of the lost And belief does not pay What survival costs [Pre-Chorus 2] If salvation existed It passed us by [Chorus] There is no hymn for the living No altar that stands All that remains of heaven Is dust on our hands If mercy was promised It never arrived There is no hymn for the living Only the ones who survived [Bridge – Drop to Near Silence] [Spoken / Low Vocal] We sang until the fire answered [Final Chorus – Slow, Crushing] No hymn for the living No light left to claim Only breath in the darkness And memory of flame [Outro – Fading Choir] No hymn
