[Verse] October breath upon the glass The amber leaves are falling fast A quiet chill begins to creep The summer promises to keep We walk along the concrete track With heavy coats and looking back [Chorus] Oh, the color's washing out Drowning in a sea of doubt But there's beauty in the fade In the quiet plans we made In the autumn gold and grey As the daylight slips away [Verse] The morning fog is hanging low The city moving soft and slow An echo of a distant year The season change is finally here A cup of tea, a faded book The stolen glances that we took [Chorus] Oh, the color's washing out Drowning in a sea of doubt But there's beauty in the fade In the quiet plans we made In the autumn gold and grey As the daylight slips away [Outro] Just a whisper in the cold Stories that we never told Let the winter come on in This is where we both begin [Instrumental fadeout]
