VERSE 3 — INTROSPECTION / STORYTELLING Look— I met a kid on the corner with his dreams in a bag, Same hoodie every winter, never knew his own dad. Teachers called him distracted, but his lights got cut off, How you focus on equations when survival is the cost? He said, “Man, I want a chain.” I said, “Why?” He said, “Respect.” I said, “What happens when they love the stones and overlook your neck?” He got quiet for a minute, kicked a rock across the street, Said, “At least when you got money, people listen when you speak.” Damn. That sentence hit different when you came from where he came, Where they memorize your losses ’fore they ever know your name. So I told him wealth is freedom, but freedom starts within, Know the difference between feeding your family and feeding trends. I ain’t preaching—I’m still learning what the mirror gotta teach, Trying to practice every jewel that I package in a speech. ’Cause a rapper with an answer ain’t as useful as he seems If he never asks the questions that can wake another dream.
