Ultimate Promise

[Intro] God today I give you my promise that: I will serve. I will bend. I will turn And start again. I will serve. I will pray. If I fall, I'll rise today. [Verse] I stood before the holy flame, I knew His glory, knew His name, No cloud of doubt, no veil of night, I saw the truth in perfect light. But pride arose, a silent throne, “I will not serve, I stand alone,” A single choice, a final fall, To want the crown, to want it all. [Pre-Chorus] I'll kill that pride before it grows, And choose the path my Savior shows. [Chorus] Your mercy keeps on calling, Your light leads me through, No matter how I'm falling, I'll rise and follow You. I don't need dominion, I don't need a throne, Jesus, I surrender, I am not my own. I am not my own, I am not my own. [Breakdown] I will serve. I will bend. I will turn And start again. I will serve. I will pray. If I fall, I'll rise today. I will serve. I will bend. I will turn And start again. I will serve. I will pray. If I fall, I'll rise today. [Verse 2] The strongest fell because of pride, Not weakness buried deep inside, I would not kneel, I would not bend, And made rebellion my own end. But I can turn, I can repent, But I can turn, I can repent, I still have time that Heaven sent, A thousand failures cannot close The path where living mercy flows. [Breakdown] I will serve. I will bend. I will turn And start again. I will serve. I will pray. If I fall, I'll rise today. I will serve. I will bend. I will turn And start again. I will serve. I will pray. If I fall, I'll rise today. Who is like God? No angel, no man. I lay down my pride, And follow His plan. [Verse] The enemy whispers, “Rule on your own.” But Christ wore the thorns And conquered the throne. The battle is finished, The grave lost its claim, So I will keep walking And calling His name. [Breakdown] I will serve. I will bend. I will turn And start again. I will serve. I will pray. If I fall, I'll rise today. I will serve. I will bend. I will turn And start again. I will serve. I will pray. If I fall, I'll rise today. [Chorus] Your mercy keeps on calling, Your light leads me through, No matter how I'm falling, I'll rise and follow You. I don't need dominion, I don't need a throne, Jesus, I surrender, I am not my own. I am not my own, I am not my own. [Verse] No crown of my own, No throne in my name, Only Your mercy, Only Your flame. The door is still open, So here I remain, Jesus, my Savior, Lead me again. [Outro] I will serve. I will bend. I will turn And start again. I will serve. I will pray. If I fall, I'll rise today. I will serve. I will bend. I will turn And start again. I will serve. I will pray. If I fall, I'll rise today.
